THE THREAD THAT BINDS US
LIKE BEADS IN A NECKLACE....

THE THREAD THAT BINDS US
There is a quiet language spoken long before words— the pulse between two people who recognize themselves in each other’s eyes.
There is the tether of lovers, a soft gravity, pulling two wandering bodies into the same orbit, teaching them the shape of belonging.
There is the lineage of family, the echo of ancestors in the tilt of a smile, the way we carry both their burdens and their blessings without ever setting them down.
There is the hush of faith, whatever name it takes— a reaching upward, a bowing inward, a sense that something vast leans close enough to hear us breathe.
There is the devotion to work, the craft that shapes our days, the pride in what our hands can make, the way purpose can feel like a second heartbeat when we’re lucky.
There is the bond with nature, the way wind can feel like a familiar hand, and trees stand like elders who have seen everything and still choose to stay.
There is our conversation with the weather— sunlight warming our doubts, rain rinsing the dust from our tired thoughts, thunder reminding us that even the sky has something to say.
There is the embrace of home, walls that remember our footsteps, rooms that hold our laughter like a secret they’ll never tell, a door that opens as if it’s been waiting just for us. And through it all, there is one thread— thin as a whisper, strong as a promise— binding every connection we’ve ever known: like beads in a necklace, held together by one strong strand, touching each other and making a beautiful piece of jewelry.
The simple, stubborn truth that we are meant to touch the world and be touched by it, again and again, until we understand that nothing living is ever truly alone.

Thanks, Pepper, this feels so honest, clear and beautiful. We are meant to know and acknowledge our interconnection, and when we love we know it. Love, Maria
I think somewhere along the way, someone broke the necklace and some of the beads got lost. Maybe this is not relevant to your post, but wanted to share the attempted suicide of one of my friends and the suicide of two people I knew, one of them being my second cousin. People are losing hope in humanity. My heart is broken. Pepper, thank you for sharing.
