OUR LIVES INTERTWINED
TO MY BROTHER IN ARMS, ME AN ENLISTED SUBMARINE SAILOR AND HE, AN ARMY CAPTAIN
Our Lives Intertwined
In the currents of time, our paths did align,
A sailor and a captain, forged by war’s design.
Vietnam’s echoes still whisper in our veins,
As we sailed through tempests, weathered life’s rains.
I, beneath the waves, silent and deep,
Guardian of secrets, where shadows sleep.
He, on rugged land, leading troops with might,
Both are bound by duty, and both seek light.
Our families entwined, a legacy spun,
My son, his daughter, a union begun.
Across coastlines vast, our kinship endures,
A bridge of shared stories, love that ensures.
For fifty-six years, side by side with wives we’ve both stood,
Through battles fought and moments of good.
East meets West, a compass of devotion,
Two families are woven in life’s endless ocean.
So let the waves carry our memories afar,
As we sail toward sunsets, guided by the stars.
In this tapestry of bonds, our hearts entwine,
A sailor, a captain—forever intertwined.
