Fred, you might enjoy the post about My Blind Grandmother. The two were blind from birth, met at the Spartanburg School for the Deaf and Blind, raised four children, three daughters and a son. My mom is one of their daughters. Granddaddy died at age 39, and I never knew him, but I think I get any talent from him. He was a prolific writer (he knew the typewriter keyboard by heart and would type out his ballads. The ballads were then printed on small pieces of paper. He would take my mom, who had a beautiful voice at age 12, set up his chair and autoharp on the square in Anderson, SC. He would play and my mom would sing his ballads while holding the tin cup for selling his little printer pieces for 10 cents each. This is an additional manner in which he supported his family. My Grandmother lived with us as I was growing up. She would read her Bible in point print which is a precursor to Braile. She would make me sit between her feet while my parents were working and read the Bible to me. She knew where I was at all times and did not get into any mischief that way.

I hope you enjoy this expanded few note I’ve included for your pleasure. I write from my heart, my friend.
